The Story

Buon Natale (Merry Christmas in Italian) is an annual concert designed to bring lovers of Italian music together. Producer, Brianna DeSantis came up with the idea two years ago as a way of connecting with the local Italain community. What better location than the stunning chapel at The Ciociaro Club? It is always a treat for everyone attending.

Cast

Brianna DeSantis, Soprano

Dr. Brianna DeSantis is a coloratura soprano based in Windsor, Ontario. She is known for her ability to connect with audiences through her expressive and charismatic stage presence. Upcoming stage credits include the role of Suor Genovieffa in Puccini’s Suor Angelica with Abridged Opera and Amor in The Legend of Orpheus with the Windsor Symphony Orchestra. She was most recently a chorister in Verdi’s La Traviata with Detroit Opera. Other notable roles include The Governess in The Turn of the Screw (2022) and The Queen of the Night in The Magic Flute (2018 ) with Abridged Opera. Digital credits include the Windsor Symphony Orchestra’s holiday album, “Christmas eh?” where she was a featured soloist (November 2022) and her ongoing role in Sonata Music Adventures’ early childhood music education YouTube channel as “Miss Brianna.” 

Though classically trained, Brianna performs a variety of genres from 15th century choral works to the mainstream music of today in and around Windsor and Essex County. She is a lead vocalist in two local bands, Big Louie and the Band and the Amici Band. Offstage, she is the director of The Windsor Community Choir and has a busy teaching schedule at Sonata Piano Studio. As an avid foodie and traveler, she spends what little free time she has exploring new locales and culinary delights whenever possible.

Michael Ciufo, Tenor

Tenor Michael Ciufo’s career has explored performances across the globe, including an unforgettable performance that launched his career at the young age of 17 at the Pantheon in Rome, Italy. His sophomore album release – Momento, debuted at #15 on the Canadian Classical charts in 2016. His most recent operatic performances include the role of “Alfredo” in La Traviata in celebration of Giuseppe Verdi’s 200th birthday in Fidenza, Italy and “Gernando” in the Canadian Premier of Rossini’s opera Armida with Opera in Concert in Toronto.

Michael has performed across Canada as a solo artist and has toured the southern United States and performed to sold-out audiences with pop-opera vocal group, Vivace. Michael is a graduate of the prestigious Glenn Gould School of Music at the Royal Conservatory in Toronto and has performed with the Thunder Bay Symphony Orchestra, the Toronto Concert Orchestra, and the North Bay Symphony Orchestra, to name a few. 

Benny Riggi, Piano

Benny is a professional pianist and organist and has been performing in the Windsor/ Detroit area for over 20 years. His knowledge and experience performing many different musical styles has made him one of the most sought-after musicians in the area. a few.
